We Made it to Beijing!

Wednesday Feb 15 - The house was quiet with the boys still fast asleep.  With one last kiss on their cheeks we headed off to the airport.  Thanks Matt and Kati for watching them.  Joe McCarty arrived at the house at 5:30am and graciously took us to our next stop- Norfolk Airport.  Thanks Joe!  Our 7:00am departure to Chicago O'Hare was right on time.  As we took off I looked out the window, and just as I was about to spot our little house in Chesapeake, the captain turned the plane and the wing came into view.  Oh well- off to China.  After a smooth transition in Chicago we boarded the B-777 and left on time at 1:00pm Eastern for a 12 hour and 40 minute ride to Beijing.

Other than a little back stiffness we arrived just fine.  God was good- no charges for overweight luggage, the luggage arrived in tact, we have met a great set of families who are all working with our agency, and we have checked into our hotel, ready to catch up on only 6 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.  Fun stuff.  Love it!  Tomorrow we will be treated to a tour of Beijing-  The Forbidden City, Tienanmen Square, and an Acrobat Show.  If my calculations are correct, here in Beijing we are 13 hours ahead of you.  We have been through Thursday and it turned out great.  How will your's be?
