Braden's first day of school!

Braden was so excited to go to preschool today!
He did better than mommy, for sure. :)
Even though it will only be 3 mornings a week,
I will miss him so much.
I know that on most days those three hours will go by fast.
But today, twelve o'clock could not come soon enough.
I kept thinking about him and wondering how he was doing.
I couldn't wait to pick him up to see how his first day went.
It must have gone really well,
because he came home talking all about the new friend he made,
music time, reading books, playing on the playground
and praying with his teacher.
Here are some pictures of our big boy on his first day!

Joshua thought he was going too...
Not this year, little buddy. :)

The Boys' Birthday Party!

We had such a great time celebrating the boys' birthdays
with friends and family!
We held their party at a local park and enjoyed hotdogs and cupcakes,
watching the kiddos play on a huge playground
and helping them make cards for children
at our local children's hospital.
The boys have been blessed with so many people who love them.
They may not realize it now,
but one day they will see how God has poured out
His blessings on their lives.
Our prayer for them is that as each birthday comes and goes,
they will grow to love Him more
and desire to serve him with all their hearts.
Here are some pictures from that fun evening!

Our associate pastor, Brother Ken, turned 70 that day,
so we surprised him with a birthday hat of his own. :)

These delicious birthday cupcakes
were made by our sweet Carly Assaid.
Thank you, Carly!!!

We were thankful that Grandma and Grandpa
could make it up for the party!

And it was special having the boys' Zittle cousins there, too!
(Braden and Trevor)
(Emma, Sarah, Kati and Aunt Kristi)

The forecast was calling for rain, and it had drizzled on and off all day.
Late afternoon they were calling for 30% chance of rain...
As we were putting up decorations,
I kept reminding myself to look at that as 70% chance of NO rain. :)
We knew that if it rained we were up a creek,
since we were expecting 75-100 people, had paid to rent the shelter,
and had no plan B.
But God is faithful in even the smallest things...
by 6pm there was no rain in sight,
and the temperature was breezy and cool.
It couldn't have been more perfect, really.
The weather that day kept most people away from the park,
so it was as if we were the only ones there!
You can't beat paying only $60 to rent a shelter
and, in a sense, own the city's biggest playground for 3 hours. :)
