Taking a nice walk with new friends.

Yesterday we enjoyed a walk through town
with a really nice family from Beaufort, SC.
They are adopting a little three year old girl named Jenessa.
They brought one of their grown daughters with them
from SC (in the black)
and their other daughter (in the green)
lives in a city a few hours from here where she volunteers
as a nurse for the babies at Maria's House of Hope.
They have a really amazing testimony,
as they have actually had Jenessa in their home in SC for two years
so that she could receive medical care for her tongue.
They have grown to love her like their own,
and have been praying for the Lord to make a way
for them to officially adopt her.
They knew they would have to get special permission
because of their ages, but God has made a way,
and they are so excited!

We spent some time walking through a really nice park.

And we found out a couple things about our little guy.
He likes his independence...like another little boy we know. :)

And he is not much for roller coasters. :)

The last stop on our walk was the golden arches...a taste of home!

And we returned to the hotel with one tired little dude!

LOTS of fun with Daddy!!

Fun with Daddy!

Last night Joshua really began to open up to Tim.

He wasn't too fond of his first bath, though. :)

Lookout Puggles...Here I come!!! Get ready MJ and Ash

I'm not sure about this guy with the gotee???

"Hello everyone, I'm Joshua"

"Gotcha Day!"

Pictures of the last two days...

Hey, everybody!
I have been trying to upload our videos from "Gotcha Day,"
but they are taking forever!
So...I'm just going to post a few pictures for now.
I know so many of you are just like..."post SOMETHING already!"
We couldn't have been more thankful for how this day went.
He was very willing to come to us and let us hold him.
Of course he had to check us out a bit first. Smart kiddo. :)
I will continue to try uploading the videos,
but this gives you a window
into one of the most beautiful days of our life!

Today was our second day in Zhengzhou.
It was the day that our adoption was officially registered.
They give you 24 hours to be sure you are all in.
How could you say no to this sweet face. :)

WE MADE IT!!!

Just wanted to post a quick note to say we made it!!  We touched down in Chicago through a thunderstorm... that was fun!  All of the flights were on time and the one into Beijing was even 40 minutes early.  Amazing!  Thanks for all the prayers.  We definitely felt them.

We are staying at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Zhengzhou (pronounced Jung-Jo)- Joshua's home town!!!
The time here is exactly 13 hours ahead of you.

We are meeting down in our hotel lobby this morning (Thursday) 9:30am our time; (Wednesday) 8:30pm your time and going to get him!!! Can't wait!!!  Joshua, here we come, buddy.

We will miss you, Lacey...

Lacey Zittle
September 2001 - November 2011
We had to say good-bye to our little Lacey today.
She was our first baby,
and the best dog a family could ever have.
So many of you loved her, too.
We will all miss her so much.

Tim finished the boys room last night.
He wouldn't let me see it until it was all done.
He worked so hard on it and it looks amazing!

Sweet little Joshua...here we come!

We got our LOA today...official Letter of Acceptance
from China for adopting our little boy, Joshua!
That was our last big hurdle!
Now we are waiting to be assigned our travel dates,
and we should be on our way within 5-8 weeks!
We are SO EXCITED and SO GRATEFUL to our Lord
for continuing to pave the way to our little boy!
His foster mom told us that he can say one word in English...
"bear", referring to the stuffed bear we sent to him. :)
She also said that he is a very happy boy with a big smile on his face.
He likes trying new things and loves to talk with people.

Little Cutie-Pie

So, several days ago Braden and I took naps at the same time.
Guess who woke up first?
Yes...I awoke to a sticky little white face next to mine.
I would soon come to realize that
while I was still enjoying my snooze,
my little sweet pea was giving himself a facial
using an old tube of Desitin baby butt cream!
By bedtime, all was forgiven. :)

Our little fireman turns 3!

Braden enjoyed his "fire truck themed" birthday party!

Joshua turned 2 years old on August 22nd!

During Braden's birthday party on the 21st,
we shared a special moment for Joshua,
since his birthday was going to be the next day.
